New Apple TV 4K is coming: Four features launching soon

A new Apple TV 4K is long overdue, and was originally expected to launch last fall. But now that Siri AI is finally ready, all signs point to the new Apple TV 4K being unveiled soon—possibly at the September 9 event. Here’s what’s rumored.

#1: Siri Remote update

Though no details have been revealed, Apple reportedly has an updated Siri Remote coming with its new Apple TV 4K.

Code leaked in a build of macOS 26.7 seemingly confirms the existence of the new Siri Remote. And before that leak, Mark Gurman had reported that a “tweaked Apple TV remote” was possible for the new hardware.

It doesn’t sound like any big changes are coming. But hopefully we’ll at least get a second-generation Ultra Wideband chip for Precision Finding.

#2: Siri AI and more Apple Intelligence features

Siri AI is expected to be a major part of the marketing push for the new Apple TV, as well as other new Home products.

So far, Apple has said nothing about the new assistant coming to either Apple TV 4K or HomePod. But evidence keeps mounting that tvOS 27 will include Siri AI—and likely only on new hardwareIt’s very possible we’ll get some additional Apple Intelligence features too, such as an improved search experience.

#3: New A-class chip

The current Apple TV has an A15 Bionic chip that first debuted in 2021. Fortunately, the new model should come with a big upgrade in the performance department.

A new A-class chip is coming that’s more powerful and enables AI features.

Rumors have indicated it could be an A17 Pro or A18 chip. But that reporting was largely from the pre-Siri AI era. It wouldn’t be surprising if Apple gave the new hardware a more powerful A19 or A20 chip instead.

#4: N1 wireless chip

The N1 wireless chip that first debuted in iPhone 17 is rumored to come to the new Apple TV 4K too.

By adding N1, Apple will give the Apple TV Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6 support, as well as support for Thread networking.

The current, four-year-old Apple TV hardware only offers Wi‑Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5, by comparison.
