Android screen casting keeps disconnecting? Follow this detailed guide to keep your casting stable and uninterrupted.
Android’s background management may automatically close casting apps, causing disconnections. Configure the following settings to keep the app running reliably.
Go to: Phone Settings → Apps → 3uAirPlayer → Battery usage details
Find the Startup management section:
a. Recommended: Enable Auto manage
The system will intelligently optimize power while maintaining casting stability.
b. If using Manual manage, make sure all three options are enabled:
· Allow auto-start
· Allow associated start
· Allow background activity
This ensures the app stays active during boot, when called by other apps, and while running in the background.
c. Some phones require a restart
After changing these settings, restart your phone, then try casting again.
In Battery usage details, review the foreground and background power usage.
If background activity is overly restricted:
· Set App battery usage to Unrestricted
(Menu paths may vary by device. You can search “battery usage” in Settings to locate it quickly.)
Casting apps need permission to display over other apps. If disabled, the casting screen may suddenly disappear.
Steps: Go to: Phone Settings → Apps → 3uAirPlayer → Display over other apps
Turn on Allow display over other apps.
This allows the casting interface to stay visible even when you switch apps, preventing unexpected disconnections.
Network interruption during phone sleep is a common cause of casting drops.
Steps: Go to: Phone Settings → Battery → More battery settings (or search “Keep network connection during sleep”) Enable: Keep network connection during sleep
This ensures the phone maintains WLAN or mobile data connectivity while sleeping, providing stable network support for casting.
· Ensure the phone and casting device (TV, projector, dongle, etc.) are on the same Wi-Fi network
· Make sure the Wi-Fi signal is strong (avoid network dead zones)
If using a wireless dongle:
· Check pairing status
· Try re-pairing before casting again
Open the app store and check whether 3uAirPlayer is updated (latest version: 2.2.21).
Older versions may contain bugs that cause unstable connections. Updating usually resolves most compatibility issues.
If disconnections still occur after all settings:
· Test with other casting apps (e.g., LetsView, Dangbei Cast)
· If other apps work fine → reinstall 3uAirPlayer
· If all casting apps are unstable → check the phone system; consider backing up data and performing a factory reset (use caution)
After completing the steps above, your Android casting should run smoothly without frequent disconnections.
