The pay gap between men and women appears to be lowering for Apple employees in the U.K.

Apple revealed today that its male employees in the U.K. make 5% more than females on average. However, the median pay favored women by 2%.

“We’re proud of the progress we’ve made to hire more inclusively and are determined to do even more to retain and promote our female employees,” said Deidre O’Brien, Apple VP of People. “While 30 percent of our UK employees are women, 36 percent of our new employees last year were women.”

The report comes one day after the deadline for companies in the U.K. with 250 or more employees to reveal their gender pay gap.

The pay gap is due to more males in senior positions earning more stock options and other perks. Apple’s report shows that 40 percent of leaders under the age of 30 are women.
