Watch a Magician Wear an iPad Like a Glove

The mesmerizing iPad magician Simon Pierro uses the Apple tablet the way many of the acts before him performed tricks with a top hat.

But during one recent performance, he used the iPad to slip on the white glove of the famed magician known as Cardini.

It’s difficult to explain how Pierro uses the iPad to perform tricks that pop in and out of the touch screen before our very eyes.

The mind of a skeptic may initially think he uses some sort of iOS app or makes use of the camera. Nothing in the App Store can explain Pierro’s act. Do we really want to ruin the illusion?

If you already geek out on the iPad, your head may explode when you see the video below.

“The performance blends the old and the new, because everything we create today or in the future is based on what we have learned from the masters of the past,” Pierro told Cult of Mac.

The recent performance in his native Germany, posted this week on YouTube, shows Pierro paying tribute to 20th-century master magician Richard Valentine Pitchford, whose stage name was Cardini.

Cardini’s top hat and tails became the iconic style others copied though, historians of magic say, few could perform sleight of hand, especially in white gloves, as dazzling as this conjurer.

In Pierro’s performance, he pulls up an image of one of Cardini’s glove on an iPad and proceeds to slip it over his own hand. You can watch other iOS tricks by Pierro on his YouTube channel.
